One of our favorite parts of being wedding photographers is hearing our couple’s stories! We love knowing how it all began, how they first met and fell in love, the proposal, and all the things in between about how they share their life together and their testimonies. Rachel and Brett’s story is probably one of the sweetest we have heard! It all started when these two met back in 2010 while working together at a children’s hospital. How awesome is it to meet your spouse through an enviroment where you are passionately caring and serving others?! They started their relationship with the foundation of friendship, being best friends and later becoming a couple. Rachel told us in their initial inquiry that she knew that God perfectly orchestrated it which led them to eachother. Brett then proposed this past year on Christmas Eve after church in front of the Christmas tree surrounded by all of Rachel’s family!!!! I love how clear it is that family means so much to both of them and how devoted they are to the ones they love!

We knew from the moment we read Rachel and Brett’s first email that they were going to be one of our favorite couples to work with and that we were going to love capturing their love story. They’re one of those couples that you just can’t help but to instantly love when you meet them and who feel like so much more than just clients! These two carry so much love, grace, humility, and compassion it’s contagious and such a testament to how we all should be! Just hearing about Rachel’s admiration for Brett and his servanthood, and seeing how these two look at eachother after 7 years, is so refreshing! To witness the joy and selflessness of these two has been such a blessing to us.

Rachel and Brett drove from Richmond for their engagement shoot and we are so glad that they did because we were able to shoot at one of our favorite locations. The property is HUGE with so many different photo opportuinities and we had so much fun discovering new areas of the property with these two! We even got to meet the sweetest pup in the world, their rescue, Bailey! We LOVE all animals so any engagement session with animals is the BEST! Thank you so much to Rachel’s sister Makayla for bringing her and hanging out with us for a bit! Unfortunately their cat (aka 2nd dog) Pierre was unable to join us for pictures since he went into hiding right before the shoot. We had such a BLAST with these two though that we really didn’t want the shoot to end!
