We have been SO excited for Rachel and Brett’s wedding day since we met them at their engagement session back in March. These two are seriously just so thoughtful, genuine, & kind-hearted and are the type of clients that photographers dream about!

We drove to Craigsville, VA the week before the wedding to scout out the location and the light, as we pulled up to Rachel’s Aunt & Uncle’s home, where the ceremony and reception would take place, Shayne and I were like two kids in a candy store. The property was absolutely stunning and as Rachel told us more about her vision and all about the final touches for the Big Day, we couldn’t help but get even more excited!

Showing up the day of the wedding, it was evident that these two and their families invested so much time and thought into every aspect and detail of their wedding day. From the breath-taking floral arrangements, to the beautiful handmade arbor and benches for the ceremony, even down to the slabs of wood for the centerpieces at the reception…all of this was made with so much love by the hands of their family.

Every last detail was so incredibly beautiful that there was one point during the reception that I MIGHT have taken a guest by surprise because I literally squealed with excitement! It was the perfect blend of simple & elegant, yet rustic, and I was over the moon!

Even with all the physical aspects of the day being so gorgeous, the most beautiful part of the whole day was just the pure love shared throughout the day. There were so many moments that really moved us emotionally; the moment Rachel’s mom and girls stopped everything they were doing to surround her and pray for her; Brett picking up the phone to call and check on Rachel during the downpour of rain right before the ceremony was supposed to start; the emotional speech Brett’s mom gave at the reception, and even the touching Mother/ Daughter dance that Rachel shared with her mom!

These two have been through such a tough season since getting engaged and it was such a blessing to be able to witness them being joined together in marriage and in Christ, in front of so many of their friends and family.

Rachel and Brett thank you both for allowing Shayne and I to be a part of this season of your lives, for the honor of capturing your beautiful day and love story, and to your family and friends for welcoming us with open arms. We enjoyed every part of your special day! We pray that God will continue to pour his love and blessings on you two throughout your marriage and the rest of your lives! We love you guys!
