The wedding day is one of the most significant days of your life. And it is one of the most difficult to plan and coordinate as well! There are so many different aspects to the day, but your photographs will be the ONLY thing that you can keep forever! They will be the only part of your big day that remains, when it’s all said and done. It is also the only part of your wedding day that makes the REST of your wedding day last forever! Even memories can fade, but images bring them back in an instant. Your photography should be a BIG factor when you are planning your wedding day!

This series is about how to plan your wedding day so that you have the BEST images possible…and more of them!! There are many things that can make any wedding day FAR more ideal for photographs, and this is intended to help you so that you are 100% in LOVE with your images! Today, we are going to cover the details!!

DETAILS

The first thing to get photographed on your wedding day is the details. While the bride is getting her hair and makeup done, we are busy shooting the rings, the shoes, the garter, the reception details…and tons more! These are a few tips for you to help us get the best detail images for you!

1.  Gather all your details in advance! If the details are in different places (such as the rings with the best man), it means that we have to interrupt hair and makeup to ask for help with gathering all your details. If you have them all in one place beforehand, we can do everything we need to do without bothering you! We will have more time to shoot, (which means better images and more of them), and you will be sure to get your hair and makeup done on time. Gather all details you want photographed (shoes, jewelry, invitation suite, perfume, dresses, rings, florals, garter, etc.) and put them in one corner of the room for us! If you have a box to put them in, that makes it extra helpful! We will know just where to find them and when we are finished we will place them in the same spot so that you know where to find them as well!
2. Think about any extra details you can include! We absolutely love shooting details and it gets our creativity flowing at the start of the day! The more details, the better…and the more variety you will have in your images! It gets us inspired for the rest of the day! If detail photos are important to you, add as many extras as you want to…ribbon, lace, textured fabrics, extra florals, etc. Anything that is unique to your wedding or will add variety and style to your detail photos is always a plus!
3. Allow plenty of TIME for the details…we are just getting warmed up for the day and feeling rushed can kill creativity! If we are only given 5 minutes to shoot everything, you won’t have as many images or as much variety as you may want. Leave a little extra time for your photographer at the beginning of the timeline to capture all of the little details that you have worked so hard to prepare!
